ABOUT

Palatinalps was the highlight of my first year at Durham, a week full of skiing, partying with my mates and all round fun
— a 2023 tripper

Palatinalps is the only ski trip aimed exclusively at Durham students, independently designed and facilitated by the Palatinalps team. Each year we take almost 1000 students to the Alps for an awesome week of skiing and parties with friends old and new. This year is shaping up to be an incredible one, so keep an eye on our social media for updates about earlybird bookings and other important information (@palatinalps on instagram).

Any questions should be directed to our instgram DMs, the question form below, or you can take a look at our FAQs page to see if your question is answered there.

We are committed to full transparency regarding how the trip is organised and run. To this end, we want to be open about the benefits received by our committee members. Our committee is a team of dedicated students who work tirelessly throughout the year to plan and execute the trip, and their roles are essential to making Palatinalps a success. In recognition of this effort, a maximum of six core committee members receive a complimentary spot on the trip.  The tour operator also supplies the committee with merchandise such as clothing, goggles etc. some of which is used by the Committee, but much is also used as free gifts in raffles and competitions.  A small financial contribution is also received from the tour operator to support the Durham University Ski and Snowboard Club directly. No committee member receives a salary or financial compensation beyond this. This approach allows us to deliver a high-quality trip that otherwise wouldn't be possible for Durham students.

We are very much looking forward to another amazing trip this year and would love to welcome as many people as possible to join us, you won’t regret it.
